Thursday, December 1, 2011 note from Cynthia McCready;
Good morning. I have several volunteer opportunities for anyone that is interested. First our center is collecting items to create Christmas baskets for low income and disabled seniors. Go to our web site to review a list of items needed. Items need to arrive at our center by December 9th please as we will be putting the baskets together the week of December 12th. If you would like to assist with putting the baskets together please contact me.
Second, I need frozen cookie dough. I need the dough shaped into a log, wrapped in wax paper with twist ties on the ends and placed in a zip lock freezer bag. I need the cooking instructions included in the bag and if you used nuts please state that. Then I need volunteers to decorate the frozen cookie dough. I store them in the freezer and give them out as thank you gifts to people throughout the year with a thank you note.
Third, if you have filled out a volunteer form and it is on file here at our center I need you to send me an email once a month on the first week of each month and state your first and last name; the project you volunteer on and how many hours. Upon receiving this information we track your hours and offer letters of recommendations for college scholarships and/or job interviews.
Let me end this note by wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I thank you for your caring and sharing ways. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
